With May almost over it's time to get ready for the strong sun rays! Obviously, we want to avoid the damaging rays as much as possible but understand that going out on the boat, gardening and other outdoor activities are simply part of the southern life. We all know how important re-applying SPF is and remind you to check out the expiration date on your sunscreen bottles as they usually are only stable for up to 3 years. (Hopefully, you are re-applying and don't ever hold on to them that long!) :)
Here at Sunkissed its important to us that everyone understands that spray tans do NOT provide any kind of SPF. Without SPF you are exposed to the same amount of damaging rays with or without a spray tan. In lieu of May being Skin Cancer Awareness Month and the hottest months of the summer awaiting us we are reminding you of how to know when its time to go get that weird mole looked out! Check out the ABC's below!
A-Asymmetry (If the mole or spot in question is asymmetrical)
B-Border (If the mole or spot in question has irregular or jagged borders)
C-Color (If the mole or spot in question is irregular in color or has multiple colors)
D-Diameter (If the mole or spot in question is as big or bigger than a pencil eraser)
E-Evolution (If the mole or spot in question has changed at all)
If you are experiencing any of these we urge you to seek a Board Certified Dermatologist!
