Just yesterday we had a young girl come into Sunkissed who had a spray tan gone wrong. (No, we did not do it!) She had gone to a facility with a booth and had come to us for help. After tan remover and various scrubs and enzymes her hands lightened a bit and we were able to even some of her color out to look more blended. She was very fair and said she went to the booth because she was afraid to have someone see her naked.
*Moral of the Story: Unless you are already dark toned it's probably not a good idea to go to a booth.
I understand the good thing about them is that no one has to see you nude or even partially nude which for some of us is an extremely vulnerable position. The bad thing is there is no one to make sure the tan is going on evenly and in all the right places! I'm going to say for the record---HAVE NO FEAR LADIES! We are truthfully not looking at your bodies in judgement when we are spraying you. We are looking for evenness, adjusting the lighting in all possible directions to make sure that line is only a shadow, etc...You get the point.
Even though I have been sprayed many times in my life when it came down to having one of my employees (and friend) do it I was rather nervous. I think she knew I was nervous so when she began she complimented my cute underwear which made me laugh and loosen up. We all have insecurities and things we would like to change about ourselves but one thing I have learned is that no matter the flaw, it always looks better with a tan!~
